Monument for those who fell in the Asia Minor campaign and the battles that followed in Gerakario

In the central square of the community of Ano Gerakari, a marble memorial has been built in honour of the fallen soldiers who fought during the Asia Minor campaign, but also in honour of the dead soldiers who took part in the wars that followed. The column of the hero at the top, as a crown, has a marble slab with a relief of St. George on his horse slaying a dragon. The inscription follows: 1912 - 1922 Koenotis Gerakarios Ano, (while below the inscription, a depiction of a wreath of laurel branches has been engraved).
