All about Zakynthos

The doctor of the military hospital of Zakynthos, Dimitrios Komoutos, founded the Komoutos Nursing Home in 1653 in a house of his family and with his personal expenses.

In 1732 Demetrios Komoutos left money in his will to cover the needs of six poor people "who, by the election of my heirs, will live in Nursing Home where my parents built here in order to have help to live"

Finally, Prince Antonios Komoutos took care throughout his life for the maintenance of the family's Nursing Home.
