Bust of Georgios Tertsetis

The bust of Georgios Tertsetis was placed in a pre-seismic small garden on Solomos Square, together with the busts of Dionysios Roma, member of Filiki Etaireia (Greek society that contibuted in Greek Revolution, Konstantinos Lombardos, politician and Pavlos Karreris, Musician. All four of these works made of marble belong to the sculptor Georgios Georgiou (1916 - 2002), and were built on the initiative of the prefect Demetrios Sabatakakis and a committee of Zakynthian citizens in 1951, which collected money from inside and outside Zakynthos. Today it is placed in front of the Courthouse. The bust's pedestal bears the name of the person depicted. It is framed on a tall stake and resembles the type of the hermes columns, without the head being congruent with the stake. The figure is rendered simply, frontally.
