The sweets mandolato, pasteli, loukoumia and mantoles belong to the traditional products of Zakynthos. Mandolato is made with egg white, almond, a little sugar and mostly honey. The pasteli is made with sesame, almonds and large amounts of honey. Mantoles are caramelized almonds with sugar and natural color. They are consumed all year round and make an ideal souvenir.
