All about Zakynthos

It is a small deciduous tree up to 10m in size. Its name in botany is corneal due to the shape of its fruits. In spring they have pink flowers that grow from the branches or its stems. According to the legend, it got its English name (Tree of Judas), because Judas was hanged from it and because of the elastic twig, he did not died quickly. But it is more likely that it came from the French name which is 'Tree of Judea'.
