All about Zakynthos

Despite its small size, the Weasel Mustela nivalis is a very good hunter and even a carnivore, ranking it as the smallest carnivore of European mammals. It can attack animals many times its size, such as hares, which it kills by biting its throat. Its diet is based on rodents, birds and their eggs, amphibians and even fish. More specifically in the Ionian, we find it in Corfu, Lefkada, Zakynthos and Ithaca, but its presence in Kefalonia, although mentioned in various sources, has not been confirmed.
