All about Zakynthos

About 100 species of butterflies have been recorded in the Ionian Islands. Their sizes vary from very small such as the family Hesperiidae and Lycaenidae to large such as the families Papilionidae and Nympalidae. Although they are common, their population is declining due to threats from anthropogenic factors such as climate change, deforestation, pesticide use, etc.
